The AI economy’s buildout bottleneck has moved.

The constraint on AI is no longer compute or capital - it's the physical infrastructure and related resources they rely on. US data center power demand is projected to more than double by the end of 2027, climbing from roughly 31 GW in 2025 to about 66 GW (Goldman Sachs Research).

The supply can't keep pace with the largest, global infrastructure build out in modern human history, especially for energy infrastructure; and the nature of the infrastructure needed to support the AI economy is quite different from that of the past. For one, it must be more flexible due to the risks and costs associated with treating AI infrastructure like data centers as fixed, 24/7, uncurtailable loads and designed power flexibility can help speed interconnection.

US data center projects now spend an average of five years in the utility interconnection queue, and nearly 2,300 GW of capacity is stuck waiting to come online. That’s more than the nation’s entire installed power capacity (Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory). Even the equipment needed to deliver data centers is backlogged. As of early 2026, large-frame turbines were booked through 2028, and high-voltage transformers run years out.

Power, water, land, labor, connectivity: each is its own queue, on its own delivery timeline, and in its own siloed segment conversation. No single player can deliver the physical infrastructure that’s needed for AI alone at the required scale. Today's market and institutional arrangements were built to finance and manage one standalone project at a time; not a continuous pipeline of large capital projects at scale. What's missing is a platform that provides intelligence, and enabling solutions for the coordination and collaboration an integrated delivery system demands.

The gap isn't capacity. It's the integrated intelligence, collaboration and coordination to create flexible, scalable infrastructure fast.

What We Do

Plinth Infrastructure, Inc provides the essential intelligence, collaboration and coordination layer for the AI economy’s physical buildout. Its platform and marketplace provide solutions that enable innovative, flexible delivery - serving every actor across the data center ecosystem with solutions at each stage of the process, built to produce efficiency, affordability, and scale – with the social compact intact.

What if every player could find near real-time solutions and support in a single location and each layer of the stack - power, water, land, connectivity, capital could be assembled in one place?

Plinth Infra is the intelligence and coordination layer for the AI economy's physical infrastructure buildout, especially data centers. Plinth is the place that makes it happen.
